FAQ
Do I really need an accountant for my small business?
Even if your business is small, having an accountant can save you time, money, and stress. We make sure your accounts are accurate, help you stay compliant with HMRC, and offer advice that could reduce your tax bill. It also frees you up to focus on running your business instead of worrying about paperwork.
How much will it cost to hire you?
We offer clear, upfront pricing based on the services you need. There are no hidden fees or surprises. Once we understand your requirements, we’ll provide a straightforward quote so you know exactly what to expect.
I’m just starting my business — can you help me get set up?
Absolutely. We can guide you through setting up as a sole trader, partnership, or limited company, depending on what’s best for you. We’ll also register you with HMRC and Companies House, if needed, and offer advice on bookkeeping, tax, and VAT from the very start.
Can you help me with my self-assessment tax return?
Yes, we can! We’ll make sure your return is completed accurately and submitted on time. We also work with you to find any allowable expenses or reliefs you can claim, helping you keep more of what you earn.
I’ve been fined by HMRC — can you still help me?
Yes. If you’ve missed a deadline or received a penalty, we can help you get things back on track. We'll review your situation, deal with HMRC on your behalf, and help put processes in place to avoid problems in the future.
Do I need to register for VAT?
If your business turnover exceeds the VAT threshold (currently £90,000 per year), you are legally required to register. Even if you’re below the threshold, voluntary registration can sometimes be beneficial. We’ll advise you on whether it makes sense for your business and help with registration and returns.
How often will I hear from you?
We stay in regular contact with our clients — not just at year-end! Whether you prefer email, phone, or face-to-face meetings, we’ll keep you updated and always be available when you need us. We believe good communication is key to a strong working relationship.
I work in construction and have CIS deductions — can you sort my refund?
Definitely. If you’ve had tax deducted under the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS), we can prepare your claim and submit it to HMRC. We’ll make sure you get back any overpaid tax as quickly as possible, handling all the paperwork for you.
